Best Ever
My husband, Don, is my favorite photo-genius. His breathtaking, award-winning landscape photography has a large, enthusiastic following nationwide (but especially here in the Pacific Northwest) and has been displayed in businesses like Starbucks and Bartell Drugs, as well as schools, churches, and other establishments. His photographs have been published in national magazines and are often used on local television stations. AND the premier puzzle-maker company, Ravensburger (based in Germany), has made one of his beautiful pictures into a 1,000 piece puzzle that was distributed through Bartell Drugs—and quickly sold out. (Can you tell I’m one proud wife?!) But the best thing to me is having many of his gorgeous prints framed and hanging on the walls of our home—and in other homes of Don’s many photography fans.
On Don’s photography website, you can browse through his photos and even purchase a print, calendar, coffee mug or a number of other fun items featuring one of his stunning pictures.
You can follow also follow Don on Facebook and Twitter where he is committed to posting one great picture (with an interesting fact or two about it) every day, 365 days a year.

World Vision – I’m honored to be a longtime child sponsor through this excellent organization that is based in the Pacific Northwest.
Project Rescue – a great organization fighting to end human trafficking and sex slavery around the globe.
Project Ignite the Light – I love this organization that is shining light into the darkness of child abuse.
House of Providence – This courageous organization is determined to meet the orphan care crisis head on, especially focusing on vulnerable and unsupported youths who will age out of the foster care system. (Based in Michigan)
Quirky Faves (and crazy tips!):
Aldo Terry Cloth Insoles:
Okay, this is a game-changer for anyone on their feet a lot! These puppies are the best way I’ve found to quiet my barking dogs. You can easily move them from one pair of shoes to the next and they are GREAT in boots. They are even machine washable (gentle, air dry only) and, last time I checked, they were under $10. No, I don’t get a kick-back…I just love this product!!
Gentle Paper Tape:
I use the product by NexcareTM nearly every day and make sure I have a roll with me when I travel. I use it to secure my bra straps on my shoulders (sorry if that’s TMI—but hey, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do! J). It also works great to hold up a hem in a pinch or to keep the window curtains from gapping in a hotel room. Lots more uses for GPT but that will get you started!
Shower Caps for Shoes:
When you travel a lot, as I do, you can end up with a lot of those little hotel amenities, including plastic shower caps. I never used to take them until one day it struck me, they were the perfect size to wrap around my shoes when I put them into the suitcase, protecting my other clothes from getting soiled and the shoes from getting scuffed up. Voila!! (PS: Aren’t these shoes cute?! My daughter got them for me at Goodwill—score!!)
